Make-up Assessments After-School

Students who need to make-up assessments after school, must come the day of their return from their absence. It does not matter the reason for their absence; illness, extended or otherwise. Teachers will not give extra time (days) for students to study as this is unfair to other students and causes confusion. This is the practice for Grades 1-12.

Parents do not have the option to choose when their child will make-up their assessments. Expect to have your child write missed exams the day of their return. Students would need to call home to arrange their pick-up with their parent if the family forgot to allow time for assessment writing after-school. Students must arrive promptly to the make-up assessment room by 2:20 pm as the room will be closed after this time. Only students in PE may enter at 3:20 pm to write assessments that are a maximum of one hour allotted for writing.

The only exception to this protocol is an extended illness where a child misses five consecutive days of school. The homeroom teacher and subject teachers will work together to plan to have assessments completed in reasonable time.
